The Ragged University puts on free events including lectures, shows etc. and enables the community to educate each other on their own areas of expertise. All talks are by volunteers and I hope to contribute one myself soon.
The idea comes from the first Ragged school set up in 1847 to provide free education to the poor – who were dressed in rags.
Nowadays we are fortunate that the events can be held in the pleasant surroundings of cafés and bars – and everyone’s a lot better dressed :-) . I hope you can make an event soon – there are teams in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
